Kids in War

I traveled in Angola in the 70s.
I buried thousands.
A 12-year-old UNITA commander came to me,
His A-K 47 on his arm,
His chest full of medals.
He sat before me and said,
“If I’m alive,
It’s only by the grace of the general.
The general taught me Wisdom.

Trust no one, but the general.

Love no one, but the general.

Peace is the enemy’s strategy.

Beware of anyone talking about peace.
Kill before you’re killed.”
Shocked to death by these revelations,
I flew to Sarajevo, Cambodia, Ireland, and
Nicaragua.
Unfortunately, for me,
I got the same message.
That’s Why I came back in tears.
